The Light Box


Paris - September 3, 2010




During my recent trip to Bali, I had the opportunity to discover this enchanting island and all it has to offer!  The endless miles of sandy beaches, rich culture, scenic nightlife and a booming art scene.  In Seminyak I came across a fabulous little gallery.  I heard that Bali had a booming art scene, but I did not expect this.  The Light Box is a boutique art showroom, featuring unique works of art, classic images, contemporary street art and fashion photography, by no other then renowned French fashion photographer Laurence Laborie.
 
The Light Boxes are presented in a thick wooden frame in a box of light, which illuminates the images offering a stunning effect.  And with such a selection of amazing prints, how can one resist? 
 
The girls from The I on Fashion definitely cant!

Simplicity.....


Paris - September 1, 2010



In front of my office on Rye Royale, the new Kooples boutique opened up and since then we have had a population of young 20 somethings hanging out in our courtyard.  They have this innocent Rock n'Roll look going on which seem so effortless it and leaves us feeling envious for their pure simplicity.  As its been said many time in Paris, look at what the teenagers leaving highschool are wearing, because that's what you will want to wear in eight months! :)

New York - September 1, 2010




Welcome to September the "Back to School" month of the year or is it the fashion month of the year!?

I took this picture on a wall in the West Village, sorry if I can't remember the street. It made me smile...You are probably wondering what this has to do with the month of September?  Just happy thoughts and good wishes as we embark on the last quarter of the year. Lots coming our way in terms of fashion...

Next week is New York Fashion Week and I will be out there covering all sides of fashion - from street fashion to catwalks! I can't wait to tell you all about it. I will be out with my BF on Fashion's Night Out (September 10th) and who knows what I will see on the streets of the Big Apple. If its anything like last year, the fashionistas will be out in force!

Have you read all your fashion magazines yet?....don't bother because Iva and I will give you a run down on the latest and biggest trends coming this fall in both fashion capitals – NYC and Paris. I have gone through every imaginable magazine.... honestly, I could start my own shop with all the paper I have accumulated in the last month. It's so mind boggling...I will simplify it all for you. 

 Ahh…did you noticed something different with the September issues ??? We love that the all-important September issue cover of every big American magazine features a women over 40!! Elle has Julia Roberts (42) to Vogue’s Halle Berry (44), Glamour scores Jennifer Lopez and Harper’s Bazaar gets Jennifer Aniston (both are 41), and Iman (55) and Naomi Campbell (40) grace the cover of Essence.
Hummm....move over Gossip Girls and Hills!!!
